The Parish Ministry Team is responsible for assisting the pastors in promoting the general welfare of the congregation and helping the congregation respond to the needs of the sick, the infirm, and those who are suffering. Prayer Concerns
- Common prayers available for members
- Emphasis for the month
- Special events
- Staff, congregation, synod, ELCA
- Missionaries and mission partners for the month
- Located in Trinity Parish and Trinity Weekly
Every Member Prayer Ministry
- Trinity members praying for Trinity members
- Prayer partners make phone contact using a weekly list of names
- Partners pray that week for concerns, needs, or celebrations of members
- Lifted up in the prayers of the church during services
- All are invited to pray for people on the list
- Weekly lists in Trinity Weekly and Trinity Parish
Lay Home Communion Ministry
- Assist pastors who provide monthly communion to homebound and nursing home members
- Pastors serve four times per year, lay persons serve eight times per year
Visitation Ministry
- In cooperation with pastoral staff, make visits and phone calls to members at home who are not able to attend worship
- Deliver devotionals and altar flowers
Audio CDs
- CDs of worship services
- Available upon request
Trinity Cares
- Emergency short term needs as determined upon request
- Transportation, errands, hot meals, companion sitting
Meal Ministry
- Organize luncheons and receptions at the church for families at the time of a funeral or memorial service
Ministry to Grieving
- Lay minister matched with a member who needs support
- Phone calls and visits
- As requested by pastor
Group Support Ministry
- For those who have recently lost a spouse
- For caregivers of a person experiencing memory loss
Alzheimer’s Support Group
- Meets monthly
- Open to Trinity members and members of the community
Military Outreach
- Send regular mailings to members and family serving in the military
Healthier Lifestyle Programs
- Programs that promote understanding of a healthier, holistic life
Blood Bank
- Cost-free blood and blood components
- Held four times a year at Trinity
- In partnership with the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank
Parish Ministry Benevolence
- Participate in coordinating the benevolence program as it relates to Trinity members
