As a community of women created in the image of God, called
to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy
Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our
gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in
ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in
the church, the society and the world.
As Women of Trinity, we need the
talents of ALL the Women of Trinity, to work together as true
team members. We have seen what happens when we allow artificial
barriers to divide and separate us. We must act as one so that
each woman has the opportunity to fulfill her purpose and use
her gifts from God, as a true child of God. "So God created man
in His own image; male and female He created them." (Genesis
As Christian women, we are
empowered to teach, lead, guide and love our fellow Christians.
We are not to be constrained by the ancient notions whereby
women were considered to be property and were completely under
the authority of first their father and then their husband.
Instead, we are to follow the example of Jesus by ignoring rules
establishing women as inferior to men, even at the risk of being
labeled radicals. (Mark 5:25-34, John 4:7-5:30, Luke 13:16)
As we move boldly into the
future, let us take to heart the words of our Lord as He reminds
Martha that her sister, Mary, is not to be denied his teachings:
"Martha, Martha, you are worried about many things, but few
things are needed - or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is
better, and it will not be taken away from her." (Luke 10:41-42)
It is my hope and prayer that we as Women of Trinity will work
together to make this truly a year to remember.
Your sister in Christ,
Women of Trinity
