Called to Trinity in
July 2000, Pastor Nancy Rouse Easton has seen her
pastoral role expand and deepen over time. She
maintains liturgical oversight of our two
contemporary worship services, working closely with
staff member Debra Wilson and a cadre of volunteers
who, like Nancy, are passionate about and committed
to alternative worship. Pastor Easton appreciates
the opportunity and challenge of using visual
elements and technology to enhance the experiential
nature of worship.
Nancy is also
passionate about ministry in the criminal justice
system, and leads worship services in Dauphin County
Prison on a regular basis. Most recently acting as
coordinator of pastoral care, Nancy now serves as
Ministry Director for Discipleship, providing
leadership for learning and spiritual formation in
Nancy grew up in
western Pennsylvania, was confirmed at First
Lutheran Church (Ridgway), and graduated from
Ridgway High School and Thiel College (with a B.A.
in English). However, she now calls central
Pennsylvania home. She received her M.Div. from the
Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, and was
ordained into the ministry of word and sacrament in
July 1987. Her first call was to Christ Lutheran
Church, Duncannon, where she served four years.
During that time, Nancy married York native Randy
Easton, who is a radiation health physicist with the
Department of Environment Protection.
Other calls took
Nancy to Perry Village Nursing Home in New
Bloomfield as chaplain, and Zion Lutheran Church,
Dauphin. In between various calls to pastoral
ministry, Nancy gave birth to three children: Sarah,
Matthew and Rebecca. The Eastons have made their
home in the borough of Camp Hill since 1994. Sarah
lives and works in New York City, after graduating
from Susquehanna University. Matthew is a math major
at Penn State University, and plays baritone horn in
the Blue Band. Rebecca is completing her high school
years at Camp Hill, and plans to major in English
and writing in college.
In her leisure
time, Nancy enjoys music, history, taking walks with
Randy, reading, and sitting comfortably with Leah
the cat on her lap.
